C88 Floral Dreams Collection
– 12x12 scrap page
‘Find joy in everything’
by Ewelina Gryglak
For this layout you will
need:
Fluttershine paper C88 001
Merry Weather paper C88 005
Chipboard die-cut FIND JOY
IN EVERYTHING DC88 004
Stencil DS 055 C88 range
Other requirements: clear
matte gesso, white gesso, texture paste, teal, pink and white acrylic inks, colour
co-ordinating flowers, double-sided tape, glue
Instructions:
STEP 1:
Your base page is Merry
Weather paper C88 005, using the dotted side.
Tear off approx. half of the
Fluttershine paper C88 001 and glue it to the base the flowery side up.
STEP 2:
To make sure the wet mediums
don’t soak through the page, prime it with a layer of clear matte gesso (that
will make it waterproof but will not fade out the original paper design).
To make the area around the
photo faded so that the layers are easily visible and more effective, use a
thin layer of white gesso. Let it dry (or use a dryer if you’re impatient like
me).
STEP 3:
Using the Stencil DS 055 C85
range and texture paste, make a stamp – this is a frame for the area where the
paper cluster will be attached.
STEP 4:
Tear the remaining
Fluttershine paper C88 001into strips and arrange them into an paper cluster –
use both sides of the paper to add colour to the page. Attach it to the page
using double-sided tape.
STEP 5:
Mix small amounts of texture
paste with pink and teal gesso – use the Stencil DS 055 C85 range to create
another frame over the paper cluster. I made half of the frame pink and half
teal to match the colour of the page.
STEP 6:
While the ‘stamp’ is drying,
use pink, teal and white inks to add colour and texture around the stencilled
frame. It doesn’t matter that the texture paste is still wet, you can dry them
together, once you have finished with sprinkling on your inks. Leave to dry.
STEP 7:
While the page with the wet
mediums is drying, paint the Chipboard die-cut FIND JOY IN EVERYTHING DC88 004
with white ink. Set to the side to dry.
STEP 10:
Using double-sided foam
tape, attach the photo to the paper cluster. Then add the Enjoy Your Journey
Chipboard DC87 004 and the flowers.
