C77 SERENITY COLLECTION | Tutorial by Lisa Marie Watling

C77 SERENITY COLLECTION
SINGLE PAGE LAYOUT – ESCAPE TO NATURE
BY LISA MARIE WATLING

You will need:

Fabscraps Escape To Nature Chippie
Fabscraps C77 001 Cherished (green side)
Fabscraps C77 002 Cherished 2 (butterflies)
Fabscraps Bird and Circle chippie
Black Cardstock
Selection of flowers
Flair
Leaves
Pearls
Teal and green chalk ink
Journalling Pen
Glossy Accents
Glitter glue – green, black, orange and yellow
Glossy Accents
Tombow glue

Instructions:
1.          Starting with your chippies – chalk the title Escape to Nature with a sage or lime green chalk; and the bird and circle chippie in a teal chalk.  Give both a coating of Glossy Accents and set aside to dry

2.          Cut C77 001 down to measure 11.5 x 11.5 inches and distress the edges.  Centre and adhere to the black cardstock.  Use a black journaling pen to doodle a frame around the edge

3.          Cut C77 002 down to measure 11 x 11 inches.  Tear off a large section of the top right hand side off – roughly measured at 6 inches from the top left and 3.5 inches from the bottom right.  You want to retain as much of the butterflies as you can.  Using a sharp craft knife, carefully cut around three of the butterflies, leaving the body part uncut, so that you can lift the wings from each butterfly.  Distress all around the edges and adhere to C77 001 – don’t apply glue too close to the edges of the torn part, as you may want to tuck part of your photograph and some flowers under the tear

4.          Grab your dried bird and circle chippie and cut it in half.  Tuck it around the top right and bottom left of your photograph and adhere.  Tuck the top left of the photograph under the torn part, as seen in the pictures and let the bottom overlap slightly

5.          Grab your choice of flowers and flair and arrange them in clusters around your photograph.

6.          Adhere your title chippie to the bottom right of the page

7.          Add pearls to your flowers and to the page

8.          Using your selection of glitter glue, colour in your butterflies to enhance them.  Once dry, lift the wings so that it appears as if they are sitting on your page

9.          You’re done!

               FabScraps Father Christmas C79 001
               Muslin [cheesecloth]
               Leaf die
               Dark red cardstock
Scrap pieces of corrugated cardboard [ex packaging]

Instructions:
1.     Cut a piece of red cardstock 8” x 4 ½” as the base of your card.
2.     Score in half.
3.    Score the front half in half again, folding it back.  Use your circle clip card die to create circle flip.
4.     Your front piece of card is now a skinny panel 2” with the circle to the right hand side of the panel when opened.
5.     Cut a piece of patterned paper C79 001, 1 and 3/4” by 4 ¼” and adhere to the front panel of the cardstock.
6.     Cut a piece of patterned paper C79 001, 3 ¾” x 4 ¼” and adhere to the inside panel of your card.

8.    Layer and adhere on top of one and another.
9.     Cut a small piece of corrugated cardboard [from your packaging – use your pizza box that has come in the mail].
10.  Cut a variety of Christmas leaves using a metal die.
11.  Build your embellishment cluster by layering leaves, muslin.  Adhere to one and other on top of the corrugated cardboard – this gives a little bit of height in case you want to tuck another layer or two under your flower as you are building it up.
12.  Cut the word ‘Christmas’ from the bottom of your patterned paper and adhere to the right hand side as your sentiment.
